Hall Cosplay Rules

In the parlance of fan conventions, there are two kinds of costumes: those worn for competition and those worn around the convention for the fun of it. The latter are called collectively “Hall Costumes.” See all Costume Contest Rules prior to entering the Hallway Contest for general stipulations and other costume information.

This contest is for creators to exhibit their costumes and those who are not interested in competing in the staged costume contest with that costume, as well as for contestants who have assembled their costume from commercially produced or otherwise primarily found assemblies. Show us your awesome cosplays!

An escort is recommended if the costume impedes vision and mobility. If carrying a weapon, please be sure to carefully read all Weapons Policies.

Hallway Contests

Each day of the convention, a Hallway Costume Contest will take place adjacent to the Costuming Contest Registration desk. Contestants must sign up at the registration desk and allow their pictures to be taken by a staff member.

Please use common sense when wearing your Hall Costume. Hall Costumes must conform to all Convention Policies and must be worn in accordance to the Costuming Policy. As always: No costume is not a costume. Nude or indecent costumes shall not be displayed. Please remember that children and members of the media may be present at all times during the con. All costumes, weapons, and props are subject to reasonable inspection by convention staff and security. If carrying a weapon, please be sure to carefully read all Weapons Policies.

An escort/handler is recommended if the costume impedes vision and mobility.

Contestants will be judged solely on their appearance in their photographs. Group entries are permitted. Judges will recognize three contestants for each day of competition and award them as follows:

First Place, Runner-Up, Honorable Mention, and Best Hero.

Awards will be announced at Closing Ceremonies of the convention on Sunday, June 26th, 2022. Participants do not need to be present to win and will be contacted with their results/prize information based on the contact details provided when registering for the Hallway Costume contests.
